Hydrogen and ATEX Zones

Objectives

At the end of the training, participants will be able to identify the main hazards associated with hydrogen, understand the regulatory requirements applicable to hydrogen environments and explosive atmospheres, and adopt the appropriate practices for working and operating safely in ATEX zones in accordance with the INERIS Level 0 requirements.

ATEX training – INERIS level 0 standard
This training is required for personnel who need to access or work in potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX zones) without performing tasks on equipment subject to ATEX regulations (e.g. cleaning, painting, handling operations, insulation work, piping activities, etc.).

Training delivered by H2PULSE instructors certified by INERIS.

INERIS Level 0 learning objectives:

  • Identify ATEX zones and their associated risk levels
  • Adopt appropriate behaviours in ATEX environments
  • Recognize suitable equipment (marking and compliance requirements)
  • Work safely in areas with explosive atmosphere risks

Knowledge assessment
A certificate of attendance may be issued to participants upon request.

Participants who achieve a score of at least 70% on the final multiple-choice assessment will receive a validation certificate in accordance with the INERIS ISM-ATEX Level 0 standard, issued by the trainer.

The validity period recommended by INERIS is three years. Participants are therefore encouraged to renew this training every three years. A successful reassessment will enable each participant to renew their qualification.

This training course is intended for operators, technicians, contractors, and other personnel who work in or need access to hydrogen environments and ATEX (explosive atmosphere) areas.
