AW2S, among the winners of two projects as part of the French Recovery Plan
AW2S is among the winners of two projects in response to the call for projects “Sovereignty in telecommunications networks to accelerate 5G applications to vertical markets” by the Digital Infrastructures Strategic Sector Committee (CSF).
5G applications for vertical markets have been identified as one of the five critical areas of the industry recovery plan. A call for projects to support the development of innovative uses of 5G in France was launched in the autumn of 2020 by the “CSF Digital Infrastructures”. AW2S is proud to be an active contributor for the selected and supporter projects by the government.
Le 5G Vertical ISS project,leaded by ALSATIS, is dedicated to the development of 5G in hospital use cases and more. It consists in harmonizing and developing 5G connectivity in hospital buildings. An experimentation and demonstration platform will be deployed at Toulouse University Hospital. This project will notably enable the remote location of medical equipment, identify its availability and ensure continuity of communications. AW2S will be involved in the radio infrastructure part.
The CRIIoT(Critical IoT) project , , leaded by SEQUANS Communications, is dedicated to the development of critical industrial connected objects. It consists in developing a solution allowing industrials to quickly evaluate and deploy 4G/5G solutions to connect their objects, optimize and secure their use. Conducted in collaboration with SAFRAN and the SNCF research laboratory, the project will enable, for example, the recovery of flight data from an aircraft engine, or the implementation of critical communication connected objects in the rail sector. AW2S will be involved in the radio infrastructure part.
These projects will allow AW2S to extend its range of infra 5G products (Remote RadioHeads, Massive MIMO Antennas, HW gnodeB,…) oriented for both vertical markets and operators while contributing to the government’s recovery plan and thus to propose a sovereign alternative telecommunication solution.
